Agnusek (lat. Agnus Dei, engl. Lamb of God) was the name given to a small reproduction of the Divine Mercy image. In 1940, in Vilnius, Fr. Michał Sopoćko initiated the production of photographic copies of the image, and more than one hundred thousand of them were made over the following few years. During the Second World War, they were sewn into fabric and worn on clothing as a sign of hope and faith. Carried by refugees and soldiers, Agnuseks soon spread beyond the borders of Lithuania and Poland.
This pin, replicating the size of Agnusek, was produced in Vilnius in 2026 for the participants of the World Apostolic Congress on Mercy, reminding us that we are marked with the sign of God’s mercy and called to carry it into the world.
